This is a cosplay I did at Anime Evolution 2006 (check it out! www.animeevolution.com)
It's "lightning speed" Suzuka from Angelic Layer.
For those of you who don't know the anime I am Kobayashi Hatoko's Angel (or doll) so that is why everything is so big.
I used a very old Simplicity vest pattern and altered it for the body/skirt part. It turned out to be a VERY short skirt (thank goodness for spandex shorts). The rest of the costume I made the patterns for myself, which wasn't so hard. The whole costume took alot of interfacing to keep it stiff but the bow was the hardest part to figure out. I ended up feeding stiff wire throught the top seam of the loops. Another challenge was the wig as I had never done anything with a wig before this. It turned out to be very top heavy because of the ponytail and antenna (the long red bit) so I had to put string under my chin to keep it on ^^' (thank goodness no one noticed)
All in all it was a very interesting costume to make AND wear @.@.
